Some products get shipping charge, others don't...but how?

Some products get shipping charge, others don't...but how?

I have two categories of products. One category must have a flat rate shipping charge applied. The other category must not have any shipping charge applied. Basically I need to know the best way to accomplish this. I assume it is in customs shipping logic but I'm not sure how the coding must be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Actually what would be better is if I could apply a handling charge to one category and not the other. The flat rate shipping is the same for the category that gets a shipping charge no matter how many items within that category are ordered. Ideas?

Or is it possible to only allow 1 shipping charge, and then the rest at no additional cost?

The Cross Country items are not to receive a shipping charge at all.

The Football items are to receive a flat $8.00 shipping (or handling) charge no matter how many football items are order.

Any ideas Agora Experts?

The reason you haven't got an answer is that your shipping methods cannot be split between products. Shipping methods rules need to be the same for all products.

At least, I don't know a way of doing it, nor have I seen any way of doing it.
