 Remove Shipping
Hey guys,
I'm having trouble getting my shipping settings how I want them, hopefully someone can provide some help. I want to remove all shipping options from my shopping cart. I have commented part of the html file where the user inputs their state and their zip code. When I test out the cart, it looks just like how I want it, but when I click the next button it takes me to a page telling me that I have not selected a state and I have not entered a zip code. How can I fix this? I have searched other posts, but I can't seem to find the answer I need. Thanks in advance!

John,
What version are you using?
Also, those are preset required fields by the script.
Without knowing the version, can't really tell you how to take care of it.
Why are you not needing shipping information?

I am using version 4.0K-4b Standard. I do not want the shipping options because I will only be using USPS. Thanks for your reply!

Still, if you are using USPS, you still need the state & zip code for the USPS API to calculate the shipping...
BTW, v4.0K-4b is old, current version is v5.2 and fixes a security hole that is present in v4.x. It, also, provides better store manager controls.

I will update to the newer version later this year, I just don't have time right now. I don't want the USPS API because I do not know the weight of the product at the time the order is placed. I can get this information from the payment info they provide. Thanks for you response!

When did you set up your cart, just recently?
It might be in your best interest to just install the new version and work from there.
What gateway are you using?
This entire thread really should be under the gateway you are using since that would be what needs to change, not the shipping settings...
Do you have a URL to your store?

I am using iTransact. I don't think they gateway has anything to do with the shipping, right? Yeah, the store is pretty much set up. so I'm waiting to update the whole thing later this summer. Here is the address: http://sloorchids.com/agora/agora.cgi

The gateway has everything to do with what you are asking to do...
To make the state and zip fields non-required, you will need to edit the required form fields array in the iTransact-order_lib.pl file.

I would like to remove all shipping options or only have one
I have a product where there is no delivery. It is merely for a reservation ( pay up front ).
But currently it is confusing for the customers because they need to select shipping options .... this doesnt make any sense for the services that I am selling.
What do I need to do to remove all shipping options OR ... to have just one shipping option where they dont need to enter in an address or payment or anything. Maybe called electronic delivery.

Just make the shipping method a default and make it a hidden field on the order form.
