Yet, when I try to login to the store manager, it says page cannot be displayed. what am i doing wrong.

make sure the storefront is displaying. it should right out of the box. the url would be something like...
http://www.TLD/path_to_store_folder/Store_folder_name/agora.cgi
TLD (top level domain) is your domain name. if it doesn't display then there is more going on than the store manager not displaying. if it does display then the store/protected/manager.cgi file probably needs to be chmod to 755.

We always install using the install file downloaded from agoracart.com...
Using a cpanel install does not always work as expected.
