Post Linking to a Gateway not listed... 
I am working with a client's bank that uses ViaKlix as there gateway, via the internet to the NOVA Network. They do provide a great developers tool guide. I haven't used Agora enough to be familiar with the shopping carts do and don'ts.

Is it fairly simple to send the cart to this gateway? What else should I research?

No it is not fairly simple to send info to and from the cart.
You would need hire someone to have the gateways files written to be able to work with AgoraCart.
You can still use the Offline gateway and manually process the credit cards through the merchant's/bank's terminals.

So, If I use one that is on the list through Agora then do I need to hire someone or is that more like the offline with more windows to select things through...

Gateways that are listed are available for AgoraCart and do not require you to hire anyone to get the gateway working.
The Offline gateway is one of thjose listed.
